What you’ll be doing…

This person will lead the Data Network Assurance Performance Team across the East area. This team is responsible for the E2E customer experience by monitoring the performance of EPC core equipment, customer related metrics, acting on degradations and outages observed through various tools. Some of the major areas of focus and responsibility will be:

Equipment that this position is responsible for monitoring includes but is not limited to: DSO / VZB support (P, PE, Brocade, Firewall, ISP links, EDN & COIN links, VCP, eNSE, MSE), SAP equipment both virtual & physical: EPC Core & 5G Core (e.g., PGW, SGW, MME, SR/SBC, EPDG, SeGW, UPF, SMF, AMF), VCP, eNSE, IEN support, Virtual Application Support, IP infrastructure, Routers and switches, Backhaul, OTNGN, UT, MSE, lit/dark fiber
• Continuing the development of a team of SMEs on Network Call Flow and Performance.
• Leading the team as we continue to move the network into the future where we rely less on purpose-built hardware and focus on virtual network functions.
• Assuring day-to-day network performance and reliability for the best customer experience in the markets.
• Supporting the performance aspect of the plan of record build and expansion of applications, operations, and maintenance of the wireless applications relating to EPC and 5GC within our Systems Aggregation Points (SAPs) aka Data Distribution Centers.
• Assessing and developing training curriculum of the workforce as well as organize and schedule the resources necessary to support a broad range of network monitoring and changes.
• Interfacing and providing support to all local departments in the organization, such as Performance, Engineering, Transport Engineering, Planning & Sales on a daily basis as needed to ensure performance metrics are met.
• Interacting with HQ organizations such as NRB, NMC, HQ Service Performance, Compliance, Engineering, and Operations.
• Leading and driving customer-impacting bridge discussions to reduce or eliminate customer impact.

Where you’ll be working…

In this hybrid role, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for…

You’ll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
• Four or more years of relevant experience in one or more of the following fields; wireless networks, telecommunications, radio communications, IP networks.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
• Master’s degree.
• Two or more years of demonstrated managerial/leadership experience. Ideally, experience managing remote teams.
• Service provider experience in MSC and/or Cell Operations and/or System Performance.
• Experience in the following fields: Wireless Networks, RF design, Performance and IP networks and routing.
• Familiarity with SDN and NFV.
• Experience in networking including IP addressing, routing and Ethernet switching.
• Knowledge of Transmission facilities and network protocols (IP, Ethernet Backhaul, Dark Fiber).
• Knowledge of LTE/5G RAN and Core technologies, Fiber systems, UNIX and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of 4G and 5G call flows for voice and/or data session describing network elements from cell to internet.
• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
• Understanding of large scale AC and DC power systems.
• Understanding of large scale HVAC equipment.
• High level of leadership and managerial skills.
• Experience in process engineering, financial analysis, innovative thought.
• Demonstrated track record of managing deliverables and meeting timelines and strong project management skills.
• Willingness to work extremely flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends as required.
• Capability to be a strong administrator with experience managing to a budget.
• Experience in working in a switching office, data center or related environments.
• Knowledge of building management and plant equipment and methodical thought process that lends to solid troubleshooting capabilities in challenging situations.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a Connecticut or New York work location, the compensation range for this position is between $105,000 and $215,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
