Job Description

Position Summary

The product quality improvement manager (engineer) works with cross functional project teams to ensure product and process quality meets high Bosch standards. The role has global responsibility to manage end to end quality of the product portfolio. A successful candidate will actively participate in product development and root cause investigation teams. This individual contributor position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment with diverse individuals and groups located worldwide.

Principal Responsibilities
• Responsible for product and process quality within a gated product engineering process
• Assess the maturity and quality of hardware and software products in the engineering product quality role
• Train and mentor associates on the various quality methods including risk analysis and root cause investigation
• Monitor field performance using global returns database
• Identify and lead product and process continuous improvement projects (CIP) throughout the organization
• Support the corrective action process using the 8D principles
• Work closely with manufacturing plant to address product and process quality issues
• Support sustaining engineering design improvements

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
• 3-5 years’ experience as a quality professional
• Expert in quality methods, e.g.- QFD, CTQ, FMEA, DRBFM
• Knowledge of software development and quality
• Experience with MS excel and Minitab (or other statistical software)
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
• Periodic international travel
• Ability to work out of the Fairport, NY office 1-2 times a week

Preferred:
• DFSS experience in software/ electronic hardware design and development
• DMAIC familiarity

Education:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Applied Statistics, or related field
• Preferred Master of Science degree
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred

To be successful in this position individual must have a high level of self-motivation, a drive for quality improvement, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
