Position Summary:

The primary focus of the Manufacturing Process Engineer develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly procedures, and quality control standards. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation involved with the assembly and qualification of Gleason Automation Systems automated products.

Job Responsibilities:
• A thorough understanding of integrated electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems as well as related manufacturing processes
• Mechanical Engineering Drawing checking
• Creation and maintenance of assembly build processes
• Cost reduction suggestions, from a component level and a manufacturing level
• Manufacturing Vendor Qualifications
• Work with Mechanical Engineering to ensure Design for Manufacturability is implemented
• Work with other technical disciplines to specify and implement features to support the design of automation equipment
• Attend & participate in design reviews for proposed designs
• Provide technical support for Manufacturing, Debug, Test, Runoff, Customer, and Field Service
• Perform other tasks and activities as needed

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
• Extensive experience with 3D Modeling (i.e., SolidWorks) and 2D Drafting Software (i.e., AutoCAD)
• Experience with application of GD&T in design and details
• Experience in machine and mechanism design
• Experience with automation equipment i.e., robotics, drives, transmission devices
• Extensive experience with fabrication methods and tolerances for manufacture of industrial automation equipment (i.e., machining, sheet metal, welding, finishing, & additive manufacturing is a plus)

Preferred Education/Training/Experience:
• Bachelors degree inManufacturing Engineering, with emphasis on Machine Design, Electromechanical Systems, Automation, Robotics

Computer Skills:
• 3D Modeling (i.e., SolidWorks) and 2D Drafting Software (i.e., AutoCAD)
• Business Systems Software (i.e., ERP, MRP, PDM)
• MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project or other Project Management Software
• Intranet (Time and Attendance) and other basic computer skills
