Construction Superintendent/Pedestrian Bridges

We are currently seeking a qualified Heavy Civil* Senior or General Construction Superintendent *(Civil and Structural) to join our team in Brooklyn for an exciting and highly visible Pedestrian Bridges project.
The Project involves the full demolition of existing and reconstruction of two new pedestrian bridges over the Belt Parkway at 17th Avenue and 27th Avenue in Gravesend Brooklyn, NY. These unique cable arch suspension bridges will be high profile amongst other NYC bridges and highly visible within the lower Brooklyn community.

General Superintendent in heavy civil construction:
• Thorough understanding and familiarity with Heavy Civil, Bridge, Utility work, Waste/Stormwater sewer & Watermain work. Experience working with DOT & DEP specifications, requirements & drawings a must.
• Comprehend and administer Perfetto’s corporate safety program which provides for a safe work environment for all self-performed and subcontracted operations.
• Generate and/or adopt to Perfetto’s quality requirements and culture; that recognizes the effect of quality on all self-performed operations.
• Supervise and direct field foreman and labor crews to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project are met; for all self-performed and subcontracted operations. Ability to schedule, plan & coordinate all work.
• Fully versed and familiar with all NYC Labor Union rules.
• Must be able to provide timely request for material and equipment needs necessary to support work schedule.
• Able to manage all self-perform craft on site, including subcontractors as required. General Contracting experience a must.
Education & Work Experience:
• 10+ years supervisory or equivalent construction experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalency; and/or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, standard means & methods); owner procedures and standards; company policies, and union jurisdiction, labor agreements.
• Must have excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required.
• Excellent management skills.
Physical Demands:
• The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit & climb as necessary.
• The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• At times will be working around large construction equipment, must be safety conscience.
• Subject to outside working conditions.
Additional Requirements/Skills:
• Team player who understands and supports corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong Computer skills.
Base Salary
$170,000/yr – $200,000/yr
