Job Description

Genesee Construction Service is a Commercial Contractor based out of Dansville, NY

Jobs are typically within a 50-mile radius of our office (with work being in the 4 surrounding county area).

A Construction BLDG Foreman is responsible for working directly with the project team to keep projects on schedule, on budget and to plan. A Foreman oversees equipment, employees, subcontractors, vendors, supplies, and safety of the project. Must be highly organized, communicate effectively, work well with a team, and be able to complete projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications –
• 5-10 years of experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity
• Ability to communicate well with co-workers, customers, and Project Managers
• Experience maintaining a safe work environment and following OSHA and job specific safety standards
• Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work proactively and independently with minimum supervision
• Proficient in the use of computerized systems and project management software – specifically MS Office, MS Project, Procore
• Strong planning, leadership and team building skills
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Ability to be organized, problem solve & solution oriented
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities –
• Schedule & oversee subcontractors and employees
• Resolve day to day problems as they arise
• Work with subcontractors to ensure adherence to schedule and critical path items
• Complete RFI’s, Change Orders, Submittals, Purchase Orders & Conduct Safety Meetings
• Manage multiple crews, vendors, and subcontractors on the project
• Adhere to labor and production schedules ensuring that projects are built on time and within budget
• Complete any electronic and/or required paperwork for daily & weekly reports as outlined by the company
• Collaborate with the internal construction team, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, building management, etc. to determine project needs
• Communicating any field conflicts and notifying internal project team
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints
• Assist in completion of close-out packages, customer walk through & punch list items
• Forecasts the work schedule to identify and resolve project risks, labor, & equipment and material requirements
• Ensure jobsite remains safe, clean & orderly
• Coordinate requests for appropriate manpower

Work Environment –
• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and driving
• Must endure regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and rainy during all seasons throughout the year
• May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated
• Must wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, hard hats, and high visible vest when working on-site

Compensation negotiable depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
