A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERVISOR / FOREMAN
As a Construction Site Supervisor / Foreman, you are the driving force that ensures our projects meet our clients’ standards. For every project, you implement effective site plans, logistics, procedures, and safety standards that help your team produce excellent work. You thoroughly read contracts and specifications to gain a complete understanding of the client’s desired result, and you develop realistic work schedules to guarantee we finish the project on time.
Whether your crew is installing finish carpentry, millwork, wall fixtures, or other interior finishes, you supervise the work to ensure everything meets all the requirements. When needed, you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and do some work yourself. Periodically, you conduct quality checks to guarantee everything progresses smoothly. You also coordinate the activities and payment of subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and inspection agencies and schedule their arrivals for convenient times. You take great pride in serving as an effective leader for your team and helping bring our clients’ visions to life!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERVISOR / FOREMAN
6+ years of construction supervision experience
Experience building custom cabinetry
Experience with fine interior carpentry, specialty finishes, and exclusive high-end interior construction
Some architectural training
Ability to read and interpret general and subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications
Knowledge about construction means, methods, and materials as well as line, grade, and survey methods
Proficiency in basic computer skills and project management programs such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and Excel
