Position Overview

The Technical Program Manager is considered a primary technical Lead for all technical decisions and direction within the assigned portfolio and/or products areas. This responsibility supports various aspects of work within the product/portfolio areas. The role is responsible for the following areas:
• Technical lead/decision point on tactical activities within the product All technical decisions are driven, directly or indirectly thru this role.
• Technical inputs and/or related requirements that result in fully vetted ‘workable work’ to product team members.
• Overall technical welfare for all assigned applications/systems/technologies. This includes but not limited to:
• Version upgrades
• EOL (End-of-life) planning
• TIME modeling assignments and follow through
• Fundamental design updates and upgrades that enable future fit and integration with appropriate solutions

Additionally, this role needs to sponsor and own initiatives that drive technical improvements and maturity in their areas of responsibility. These types of initiatives may include but are not limited to:
• Migrating certain applications to new or other existing platforms
• Sunsetting EOL applications
• Identifying and driving new areas of focus and technology advancement
• Partnering with other Technical Program Managers in like-minded initiatives

This role will work directly with the Sr. Technical Program Manager as well as Architects towards recommending a future state that will transform Raymour and Flanigan IT into the next level of maturity. You will have a strong influence in the approach the IT team takes towards leading IT and the overall Raymour team into the future.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

For the Technical Program Manager, the scope of the role is targeted within the assigned portfolio. While it is possible that certain applications/systems may be shared across portfolios, the intent is to have as many targeted applications as possible assigned to a specific portfolio. The qualified candidate will have a high degree of technical and business knowledge in the assigned applications. Additionally, the ability to work with and technically influence the technical staff is of the highest priority, While this particular role has no, or very few direct reports, the ability to lead discussions and drive towards solid, future facing decisions is critical to their success. Strong technical design abilities along with expert level communication skills are paramount to success. This aspect of influence needs to play a critical role in the Technical Program Manager overarching approach as well as tactical decision making. Required Education and Experience
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related Masters preferred
• 7+ years IT professional experience showing progressive growth and responsibilities.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse technical teams thru specific program/strategic level activities.
• Demonstrated expert level of SDLC understanding and adherence
