Electrical Estimator – Industrial and Commercial Construction – Base Salary to 80k/year – Buffalo, NY

From industrial and waste-water systems to building construction and fabrication services, they strive to seamlessly blend traditional mechanical contracting techniques with cutting-edge BIM technologies to ensure they meet and exceed the individualized needs of all their clients.
• The company has expanded to include services to customers in Erie, Pittsburgh and Buffalo; employing upwards of 220 people, mostly craftsman, and continuing to grow.
• The Electrical Estimator will be working with a team of 5-6 electricians and a project foreman to craft competitive electrical bids utilizing provided estimating software and industry knowledge to assist the preconstruction team with securing work for all the company’s operations and service teams.
Responsibilities:
• Create accurate and complete quantity take-offs from scratch for commercial and industrial projects
• Input take-offs into an estimating format
• Work with in-house Pre-construction and Operations teams to proactively develop new plans and methods for competitively estimating
• Write bid proposals for projects
• Monitor activities of competitors to ensure a proactive approach about future estimates
• Maintain knowledge of current material and subcontractor pricing to ensure the pricing structure of all products and services is profitable and competitive in the market
• Attend meetings with customers and project managers
• Meet productivity goals for bids produced, bids won and minimal margin of error
Qualifications:
• 2+ years’ experience as an estimator for an electrical contractor or a minimum of six years of experience as a Construction Foreman/Construction Project Manager
• Thorough knowledge of electrical code requirements; good understanding of control side
• Proven ability in estimating techniques and cost control methodology
• Proven ability to work with engineering drawings
• Verifiable proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong aptitude for technological applications
Compensation:
• Base salary in the 65k – 80k/year range
