Summary:The Gleason Works Rochester has an immediate opening for a Heat Treat Technician to lead the furnace maintenance and repair process at our Rochester NY facility. This position will be responsible for the repairs, preventative maintenance and furnace control instrument calibrations. Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance and repair services for manufacturing production furnaces and Heat Treat furnaces throughout the facility, including electrical panels (control panels), plumbing, and refractory furnace maintenance Troubleshoot problems with furnaces when necessary, as well as perform emergency repairs Read and interpret electrical or Mechanical schematics and diagrams, understand technical drawings and complex work procedures Use blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed Possess a thorough understanding of combustion theory and application of concepts during industrial furnace troubleshooting and repair to maintain thermal furnace characteristics and operational efficiency Preferred Qualifications Strong interpretation skills with regard to technical drawings Proven experience maintaining equipment and/or systems in a manufacturing environment High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
