Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.
• Lead and support thermal and structural analysis tasks using various classical methods and engineering codes/tools including ANSYS Workbench
• Analyze and evaluate complex aerothermal and structural designs and present solutions
• Provide regular project status to management team on analysis tasks
• Mentor and guide emerging engineering staff on system analysis
• Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from accomplishment of engineering tasks.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:
• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering (Engineering Mechanics) or related discipline; MS preferred
• Experience in using ANSYS Workbench to solve thermal and structural problems; or
• A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
• US citizenship required. Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOD security clearance

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
• Experience with analysis of complex, high temperature aerospace systems
• Familiarity with engineering and finite element analysis codes for thermal and structural analysis
• Experience with vibration and dynamic modeling
• Experience with finite element analysis supporting low cycle fatigue assessment of aerospace engine hardware
• Understanding of conjugate thermal-fluid-structural problems and mapping of CFD loads into ANSYS
