PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Sr. Data Engineer will be joining an established agile product team that leverages open collaboration, design thinking, and innovation to deliver customer centric data and analytics capabilities. The candidate will leverage our Rich’s Azure platform using Azure Machine Learning Studio, Azure Databricks, and data stored in Rich’s Azure Data Lake that contains customer profile and transactional information. This person will be asked to understand business needs and translate those needs into high-level design plans. The associate will be consulted on technical decisions that balance appropriate tradeoffs between cost, predictability, product functionality, user goals, time to market, process efficiency and above all, business values.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES• Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements• Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using Azure and SQL technologies• Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition• Perform data pre-processing to prepare data stored in the Data Lake to stage data for machine learning experimentation and analytics.• Utilize automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources• Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of data• Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction• Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of data• Working with stakeholders including data, design, product, and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues• Provides regular status updates to the product owner and technical lead regarding projects.• Develops training plans to ensure effective use of designed systems by customers.• Mentors less experienced I/S associates, training, and guidance as needed.• Researches new development tools and technologies, recommending those which will benefit the organization.• Develops high level testing plans for integration and system testing to identify potential defects and minimize problems within the application after it is implemented.• Led testing activities.• Provides the information, documentation, and guidance necessary to seamlessly transition-designed systems to the operations and support areas.• Performs other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Rich Products Corporation’s

business objectives.• Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.• Perform periodic design and code reviews to ensure high standards are maintained in development• Build and deliver using SDLC and/or agile practices

• 5+ years of related experience in a data engineering role
• 4+ years of development experience in Python
• 2+OO development in (Ruby, Java, R) is nice to have
• 2+ years Azure Cloud
• 2+ years of Data Architecture (Azure Data Lake, SQL)
• 3+ years of DevOps related experience
• Experience working within an IDE or source control editor (Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc)
• Strong experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of ETL, data replication processing
• Knowledge of ML Algorithms and data science concepts
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Databricks Lakehouse architecture experience strongly preferred
• Strong experience with build tools e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, etc
• Strong experience with source code management (i.e. GIT)
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka a plus
• Deep understanding of product development & agile principles
