EXP is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with experience in the Northeast market. We are an entrepreneurial, multidisciplinary firm of approximately 3,500 professionals across North America with a history of successfully delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects across North America. We are currently looking to grow and enhance our transit, rail, facilities, roadway, and tunneling practices and are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic leader.

As a multidisciplinary practice, EXP offers diverse experience in planning, design, project management and construction phase services for projects. We have designed award-winning stations for urban transit systems; provided integrated services for operations centers, maintenance facilities and multi-modal hubs; and led construction phase services such as tunnel monitoring and on-site construction engineering and inspection (CEI). We continue to expand our services and markets to meet the needs of our clients and their communities to improve the built environment.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Lead a structural practice group

Pursue opportunities in the local market and support national pursuits as needed

Develop and maintain client relationships

Work with other senior staff within Infrastructure & Transportation and other practices groups, as necessary, to pursue and deliver a variety of projects

Serve as EXP’s Project Manager on a wide variety of related projects

Maintain project schedules and manage project financials including profit/loss for projects.

Coordinate staff required for internal project teams, including directing, coordinating, and reviewing work by others

Perform design computations, oversee report, plan and specification development and sign and seal construction documents as necessary

Oversee and approve invoicing/billing and manage project scope and secure change orders as necessary

Act as EXP’s representative with the client and teaming partners

Assist in the preparation of proposal and presentations for project pursuits

What your experience looks like

BS in Civil Engineering from an Accredited University

10+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience

Demonstrated ability to manage and lead diverse project teams with a strong track record of project delivery from both a technical and financial perspective

Prior success in pursuing and delivering projects in local market.

Significant experience preparing proposals and participating in shortlist interviews.

Knowledge of work related to delivering projects for with local agencies

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise other engineers, planners and technicians

Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Ability to mentor staff

Industry participation in professional societies both locally and nationally.

Ability to travel in both the United States and Canada.

Licensed PE

Experience with tunnel, bridge, highway, track, and systems design elements

Prior experience building a transit group or expanding services.

Experience with NY MTA, PANYNJ, and other local clients

The pay range for this role is $150,000 to $240,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
