Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

Survey, design, installation oversight, and commissioning of metering equipment and data gathering hardware. Oversee contractor’s work at certain phases of the project. Provides support to the contractor for build/assembly of scope of supply. Conducts system commissioning/start-ups, operation & maintenance training, providing support for existing installations, and identify areas of improvement.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Commissioning and start-up of new equipment.
• Work with other departments during the design of new or modified equipment to meet customer needs.
• Reviews project specifications and plans to ensure it meets specifications.
• Conduct on-site training with operating, maintenance and management personnel.
• Conducts lab testing as needed for process troubleshooting or process optimization.
• Typically works on one or more projects for a length of time
• Troubleshoot, inspect and re-build of existing equipment in the field.
• Composes documentation/procedures, internal memoranda and reports in a timely manner.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
• Willing and able to travel 30%, including flights and hotel stays

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background
• BS (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferred
• Thorough understanding of electric circuits and making decisions based on diagrams is a requirement
• Experience using AutoCAD or Visio to create or modify design documents
• Implementation and support experience with control systems and/or DCS systems is required
• PLC and logic programming, configuration, and support experience is required
• Thorough understanding of network communications and OT cybersecurity concepts is required
• Thorough understanding of control panel design and wiring and plant instrumentation is preferred
• Experience with databases and SQL queries, PC/server configuration, thin client systems, and/or VMware is a plus
• Experience in the Energy industries is a plus
• Experience working in an integrated IT/OT environment with frequent collaboration with IT personnel is a plus

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks/projects and prioritize work effectively to meet project deadlines
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must possess a high degree of professionalism
• Able to operate within a team atmosphere and interface effectively with a diverse set of groups and stakeholders
• Willingness to keep skills up-to-date and to acquire new skills to improve our support for the business

Additional Information

Salary for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 USD Annually.
