G.A. Braun, an industry leading manufacturer of industrial laundry equipment, is seeking a Saw Operator to join our growing team. For over 75 years G.A. Braun is ISO 9001 certified and committed to providing customers with industry-leading quality products and services. Braun is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer.
As a manufacturing engineer, you will engage with current and future customers from a variety of industries, evaluate quote requests, and prepare estimates and proposals that exceed customer satisfaction requirements and cost goals. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to learn and to execute successfully on all assigned initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Successfully lead all aspects of assigned projects in support of both internal and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate customer requests for quote, preparing cost estimates, and develop & document a manufacturing process to meet customer requirements and achieve cost goals.
• Create drawing packages to support contract manufactured product.
• Communicate with customers frequently and effectively, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying engineering product requirements and researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods. Partner with equipment suppliers to expand and improve our capabilities.
• Build effective relationships with and successfully engage team members from varied backgrounds in discussion, problem solving, & decision making.
• Lead technicians, fabricators, and junior level staff toward successful project execution.
• Design, develop, test, and document tooling and fixtures.
• Support product engineering team through development of manufacturing capabilities and standards documents, design reviews for manufacturability, and identification of potential design changes to improve overall product quality and reduce costs and defects.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Develop written and graphical work instructions to effectively communicate manufacturing processes and inspection requirements to production personnel.
• Perform in-process inspection as part of the First Article Qualification process to ensure conformity and identify defects and process deviations. Convey findings verbally and in written reports and recommend appropriate rework and corrective actions.
• Assist engineering and QA departments in resolution of manufacturing quality related problems.
• Analyze processes, workflow, and cell layout throughout manufacturing and work closely with manufacturing team to improve runtimes and quality.
• Train and mentor less experienced employees and provide sound engineering guidance to all who might seek it.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continued growth, professional development, and engineering excellence.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to create, read, interpret and analyze engineering drawings and technical policies and procedures.
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude, including functional familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, and welding.
• Clear understanding of manufacturing tolerances and capabilities of various manufacturing processes.
• Operation of CAD/CAM software. Experience with Solidworks® preferred, and experience with FEA will be useful.
• Ability to measure and inspect parts and components, using standard inspection methods and tools, including precision measurement in a machine shop environment.
• Familiarity with national and international codes and standards related to manufacturing & welding is a plus.
• Leadership skillsets gained through any activity, and the ability to motivate others is highly desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associates degree in a technical discipline at minimum, with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Hands on experience in welding, fabrication, or machining strongly preferred.
