Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support day-to-day production by using problem solving techniques to address manufacturing issues
• Facilitating efficient operations within assigned production areas, optimizing existing processes using lean and statistical tools.
• Organize and implement strategies under current KPI systems to drive improvements with cost reduction and capacity increases.
• Complete product line operation reviews, verifiable process improvements and overall throughput improvements. Improvement requirements include and are not limited to:
• Throughput improvement of 25% per assembly manufacturing line
• Cost savings minimum of 25% per assembly manufacturing line
• DFM improvement suggestions to increase throughput by a minimum of 35%
• Automation suggestions to reduce labor by 75% and increase throughput by a minimum of 10%
• Direct labor reduction initiatives to reduce labor by 50%
• Maintain manufacturing process documentation (Processes, BOMs, Routers, etc.)
• Summarize and report on departmental Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost performance measures
• Assisting/coordinating with maintenance or vendors on the installation, repair, upgrade, or removal of equipment to minimize impact on production
• Design and implement assembly tooling/fixtures for assigned manufacturing lines
• Program automated machines for new or updates to existing products
• Assisting in the investigation of quality issues and driving of corrective actions
• Collaborating with the engineering design team on DFM initiatives
• Provide hands-on support to operators, technicians and line supervisors to ensure daily, weekly and monthly business objectives are met

· Collaborating with Procurement and Engineering on creating and driving action plans to limit critical components on assigned product lines

· Leading or assisting in the identification of new equipment and/or equipment suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline accompanied by at least 2 years of Co-Op and/or work experience in Operations or Engineering in a manufacturing setting
• Demonstrated track record of driving equipment and process-oriented efficiencies using lean/six sigma methodologies
• Excellent communication, leadership, collaboration and organizational skills
• Project management capability with self-direction and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize work as needed
• Working knowledge of problem-solving techniques
• Experience with manufacturing engineering CAD programs (i.e., SolidWorks)
• CNC programming experience preferred
• Knowledge and experience of working in an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified manufacturing environment preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
