Job Description

Position Summary:

Honeywell is currently seeking a goal-oriented individual with to support our growing refrigerant, blowing agent and aerosol markets. The qualified candidate will be involved in a variety of activities and serving as PFAS Subject Matter Expert (SME), and providing technical leadership and project/program execution oversight. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and detail oriented, with demonstrated experience in PFAS investigation.

Location:

Buffalo, NY or Morris Plains, NJ. (Willing to relocate for the right candidate)

Ideal Candidate
• Experience with LCA and/or LCCP analysis
• Environmental modeling or simulations experience
• Previous experience with interacting with regulatory bodies such as EPA, REACH
• Background and experience with environmental metrics (GWP, ozone creation potentials) and related modeling or simulation tools to evaluate environmental impact
• Experience in the technical delivery of investigations, management plans, environmental impact assessments
• Experience or willingness to manage clients and communications with regulators

Job Duties:
• Provides Technical Leadership in the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) space as the SME communicating to internal/external customers as well as regulatory bodies.
• Able to identify and implement innovative solutions that are consistent with project and regulatory objectives.
• Ability to understand and communicate risks to leadership and within project execution teams.
• Analyze data and perform additional data analysis tasks as requested depending on the laboratory runs performed
• Translation of laboratory/bench top studies into a field environment
• Focus on support and preparation of peer-reviewed publications (journal articles, presentations, etc.) and attendance at relevant conferences
• Presents findings, provides updates, and makes recommendations to clients, regulators, and other stakeholders
• Effectively communicate technical concepts via verbal and written presentations, including representation of the company at conferences, workshops, and other professional forums.

Must have:
• MSc in Environmental Engineering or Chemistry (Ph.D preferred)
• Background in environmental or atmospheric sciences
• Ability to translate scientific papers and research to be easily understood by Regulators and business teams.

We value:
• Experience in environmental and/or atmospheric sciences with a focus on lifecycle analysis, environmental footprint, and degradation mechanisms of chemicals in different environmental media
• Experience with environmental metrics (GWP, ozone creation potentials and other) and related modeling or simulation tools to evaluate environmental impact
• Ability to closely follow relevant scientific literature and summarize for non-technical audiences (Regulators and Business Teams)
• Ability to work on multi-functional teams, especially with Marketing, Government Relations, and Communications
• Ability to analyze technical literature and Marketing claims and create support or opposition summaries, in non-technical language but with technical back-up for use in advocacy projects.
• Experience working with customers and other stakeholders
• Familiar with LCA and/or LCCP analysis
• Previous Environmental modeling or simulations
• Interactions with regulatory bodies such as EPA, REACH
