THE ROLE….
Micromeritics is looking for a self-motivated Field Service Engineer (FSE) who can cover their assigned region to help provide installation, repair, preventive maintenance and customer training for all lines of Micromeritics instruments. The FSE interfaces with all members of sales, support and the Global Service Team and may also perform help desk phone/email support, and field support.
Ultimately, we are looking for someone with strong electrical-component troubleshooting experience and believes that Customer Service always comes first!
WHAT IT TAKES….
• Perform all service activities relating to Micromeritics instruments following internal guidelines, established procedures and customer requirements.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support by phone and email.
• Provide on-site installation, service, and repair of company products with the aim of exceeding the customer’s expectation and ensuring customers can successfully use Micromeritics technology and instrumentation.
• Actively promote Micromeritics products and services.
• Ensure professional relationship with our customer base to achieve customer loyalty and escalate issues as necessary to solve critical problems in the most expedient way possible.
• Follow the company’s guidance regarding ethical business.
• Responsible for the management and maintenance of the company’s assets, such as vehicle, parts stock & inventory, computer, telephone, general tools, software, and manuals etc.
• Organize and plan own work schedule by coordinating with all necessary partners such as administration, sales, and senior management.
• Ensure prompt submission of field service reports, expense reports, etc.
• Ensure alignment of all activities at the customer site with the rest of Micromeritics and report important information with respect to our customers (e.g., information about proposed new purchases to sales and general business intelligence
EDUCATION:
• Equivalent experience or a degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or other STEM field is needed.
• Prior training or experience (e.g. military electronics training) may be credited toward the education requirement at the discretion of Micromeritics.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
• Five years of progressive experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical systems in a technology environment is required. Experience repairing scientific instrumentation is preferred.
• Must have experience independently coordinating and managing personal travel for business, including air/ground transportation, hotel accommodations, meals and expense reports.
