Overview

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join us in our Rochester, NY office.

Bergmann mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineers are experienced in a wide range of projects, including power generation & distribution, lighting systems, fire alarms, security and access control systems. We design new and renovated systems, as well as energy controls. We offer both new building commissioning and retro-commissioning. Our experts are skilled at reducing energy usage while creating comfortable interior environments. Our professional engineers evaluate how the design impacts both short-term capital costs and long-term operational costs. Our team can also conduct constructability reviews to lower project costs and shorten the time to completion.

Responsibilities
• Performs assignments designed to develop skills of Project Engineer/Design Engineer.
• Utilizes engineering principles and standard designs to develop project designs and layouts.
• Works with Senior Engineer and Project Engineers.
• Independently performs assignments after instructions as to the general results expected.
• Receives guidance on unusual problems and supervisory approval on developed plans.
• Assists in the preparation of contract documents.
• Plans, schedules, conducts all phases of the work in a part of or a total project of moderate scope.
• Performs conventional engineering work including standard designs.
• Makes engineering calculations.
• Develop elementary designs expanding on detailed schematic sketches.
• Coordinates production and coordination with Senior Engineer/Designer or Project Engineer/Designer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• E.I.T. preferred.
• 0-2 years progressive Power, Lighting and Fire Alarm design experience for buildings.

• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and AGI Lighting Software preferred.
