Responsibilities:

As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will lead the environmental task from start to finish. The Senior Environmental Engineer is responsible for developing the scope for assigned tasks and implementing plans to complete the work within an approved budget and schedule. The Senior Engineer will be the lead technical representative of the Environmental Engineering Unit at both internal and external meetings. Reporting to a Principal Engineer, your responsibilities include: identifying Federal and State environmental permits and design requirements for construction projects related to transportation facilities and waterfront developments, knowledge of environmental compliance requirements for facility operational needs, develop and implement plans and prepare reports for Phase I & II investigations, develop remedial actions alternatives and corrective action plans for submission to State Regulatory Agencies, preparing design and construction cost estimates, developing technical specifications, and contract drawings for publicly advertised construction projects.

Qualifications:

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
• The individual must have comprehensive knowledge of both New York and New Jersey State environmental regulations and regulatory processes related to support the responsibilities of a Senior Environmental Engineer
• The selected candidate must have demonstrated experience in performing the work related to the responsibilities of the Senior Engineer described above.
• Applicants must provide a writing sample of an environmental investigation / remedial action report that they have independently prepared.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the aforementioned areas is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• A Professional Engineer’s license in NY and/or NJ.

• Experience designing asbestos abatement projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lead, manage, and prioritize multiple assignments
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize as required
