Your Opportunity

Our dynamic team in the Tristate region have an immediate opportunity for a senior Process / Chemical Engineer with 10 years of engineering, consulting, and project / design management experience. We provide design solutions for a variety of industries and market sectors, with a focus in pharmaceutical manufacture, but extending through fine chemical and specialty industrial processes. The successful candidate will have prior design and management experience involving pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life science, R&D laboratory, cleanroom, or GMP facilities. Your Key Responsibilities

Use knowledge of general concepts of process engineering elements through investigation and analysis, to drive buildings engineering projects with a primary focus in FDA regulated facilities

Perform and review detailed calculations to analyze, model and design process system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

Lead team in preparing process designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and review information to support design decisions.

Lead interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.

Interface with clients at all stages of the project.

As the senior engineer and design manager work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project.

Mentor staff on principles of design and project execution.

Contribute or lead the preparation of project proposals and status reports.

Perform field work related to construction related activities as required.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Requisite knowledge and application of relevant codes, standards, design guidelines, association manuals of practice, energy codes, and other pertinent codes relative to jurisdictions and developing jurisdictional experience and contacts.

General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.

Strong knowledge of process mechanical systems, hydraulics, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.

Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.

Possesses excellent time-management skills.

Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.

Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.

Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.

Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Effective communicator and able to work on and lead teams.

Presentation and interview skills are preferred.

Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with an emphasis in Chemical, Biochemical or other process based technical degree.

Experience designing in accordance with cGMP’s within biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred.

Professional Engineer license preferred.

This position’s location can be primarily focused in Albany, NY, Burlington/ Boston, MA, Binghamton, NY, Stamford, CT, Hauppauge, NY with the ability to support, for the right candidate and independent work in the Northeast region. Flexible / remote work is negotiable. Intermittent travel for client site visits may be required on a per project basis. Extended travel assignments are not required.
