InterPrice is a financial technology platform that enables corporations to have direct access to their cost of capital at any point in time and streamlines their communication with financing partners. Our system is designed to be used by various financing entities – banks and investors – and, most importantly, corporate issuers in the capital markets.

Role

As the Vice President of Engineering, you will report directly to our Chief Executive Officer, and be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. You will lead all strategy and execution of technology at InterPrice and you will be instrumental in scaling the technology and engineering team as we grow. This is a hands-on role where you will help scope, architect, code, and deploy projects as well as lead an onshore and offshore team of developers. In addition, as the Head of Engineering you will make executive decisions regarding our company’s technological needs and play an integral role in setting the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth. A successful candidate should have experience as a Head of Engineering , a senior software engineer, or a relevant position, developed software from idea to production, built and managed software teams, as well as an appreciation for mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities Include
• Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence. Lead the strategy, planning, execution, and growth of the technology roadmap & OKR’s including the platform architecture
• Review and optimize software development processes to ensure consistent, predictable, and on-time delivery of each product release
• Determine and monitor appropriate database architecture designed for rapid platform & user growth
• Ensure proper performance monitoring of our tools and platforms
• Maintain a close partnership with the Product team to collectively bring high-quality deliverables, consistent with agile/ scrum processes, to our clients
• Represent the technological agenda in staff meetings and when making hiring decisions
• Build and perfect marketplace integrations, write and implement API contracts, and oversee the efficient merging of back-end and front-end code
• Mentor to the development teams while coding alongside them and reviewing their code
• Produce accurate and complete technical documentation, i.e. wireframes and technical specs, user manuals, user journeys, etc.
• Produce comprehensive and accurate estimates for work
• Test work thoroughly against specifications and test plans to avoid errors and re-work
• Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape particularly information security best practices
• Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity

Strongly Recommended To Have
• 8+ years of previous work experience as a software engineer or other relevant leadership & technology role, ideally in capital markets
• Background in financial data analysis
• Extensive knowledge of software development, database, and web-platform technologies
• Architected complex platforms and developed enterprise-level technology roadmaps
• Designed, implemented, and optimized processes for development, QA, security, and IT
• Personable and approachable, with an enthusiastic and motivational nature and an overall passion for excellence
• Strong leadership and project management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Experience with hiring technical teams
• Ability to delegate effectively and efficiently
• Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in engineering, computer science or mathematics, or a related field

Relevant Technology
• Operating Systems, including Linux & Windows
• Knowledge concerning data feeds, such as APIs, FTPs, data taxonomy
• SQL Server/T-SQL
• Experience with high-level programming languages or languages, such as- C++, Java, C#
• Scripting languages – Unix Shells, Powershell
• Current tech stack – Vue SPA, Laravel
• Machine Learning or technical analysis languages, such as Python or R
