KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Requirement’s elicitation
• Develop system and sub-system requirements cross-functionally.
• Resolve requirements conflicts among stakeholders
• System Eng. Strategy
• Develop and deploy CMU System Eng. process strategy
• Develop and Integrate System Eng. tools across CMU organization (i.e. DevOps, Windchill Requirements Management)
• Develop and Integrate System Eng. processes across CMU organization
• System Validation
• Create technical documentation as required to document validation
• System Engineering product test requirement commonality across the department
• Develop strategy and deploy standard test and validation tools for CMU NPD products
• Continuous Improvement
• Develop and agree with stakeholder System Engineering KPIs to deploy across CMU NPD programs
• Identify Best practices under the System Engineering process to incorporate into the CMU NPD team
• Talent development
• Identify, develop, and provide training under the System Engineering process for the CMU NPD team
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience applying system engineering methodologies in complex product development.
• Experience eliciting requirements for complex electro-mechanical systems, particularly via trade-off analysis.
• Experience decomposing complex systems into components and mapping requirements to components and test cases for testing and validation.
• Experience integrating, verifying, and validating the performance of complex systems
• Experience creating guidelines/strategies for implementation of systems engineering practices
• Ability to work with minimal supervision with a proven record of on-time delivery
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams and a diverse cultural environment
• Ability to professionally engage with cross-functional and cross-regional teams to understand and translate product requirements into control system requirements
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts across technical and non-technical organizations
• Ability to work with others on the design team to understand and translate a design into program scrips modules that drive the configurable product.
• HVAC experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Ambitious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced design environment.
• The ability for developing continuous improvement projects to influence and drive change
• Ability to comprehend customer needs and establish appropriate actions.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities.
KEY PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES AND SKILLS
• Experience with model-based design techniques (like Matlab/Simulink)
• Experience with HiL simulation with PXI.
• Experience in requirements management tools such as Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc.
• Knowledge of UML and SysML
• Knowledge of HVAC systems
