Job Description

The Sr. Network Engineer will be involved in planning, designing, implementing and advising on highly technical aspects of the Information Technology strategic direction of the client. The incumbent plans and implements new and/or updates existing information systems, develops systems processes and procedures, analyzes systems and technology needs and introduces new systems and related technology.

• Daily core network support, configurations of Cisco routers and switches to support data, voice and video networks.

• Configuration of Cisco Nexus Data Center Switches, trunk and port configuration.

• Solid skills with Catalyst, BGP, and VPN remote access configs

• Hands on skills with Wireless networking, ASA firewalls and load balancers.

• Able to troubleshoot complex Networking problems.

• Document Network topology diagrams.

• Install all new networking hardware, systems, and software.

• Configure, administer and maintain network access services, equipment and devices.

• Avaya switch port access list knowledge and interfacing knowledge

• Perform network troubleshooting analysis between servers, workstations and associated systems.

• Document network problems and resolution for future reference.

• Excellent communication skills particularly across functional technical areas.

• Monitor network performance and implement performance tuning.

• Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience needed.

• Mentor and cross train other team members in key skill sets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Cisco Networking environment.

• 1-2 years Data Center / Network Engineering experience.

• Experience managing a WAN using MPLS, IPSec and DMVPN technologies.

• Experience with VOIP technology

• Skills connecting to cloud services is a plus.

• BA in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

• CCNA ideal, CCIE certifications are preferred.

• Working knowledge of structured cabling.

• Systems: Cisco, Avaya, Windows

• Networking: Switches, Routers, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS
