ABOUT THIS ROLE:
You will be joining our platform engineering team which builds, maintains and delivers infrastructure that enables our product teams to ship industry leading and innovative systems that make everyone feel good about life insurance. This team is always looking for ways to improve our delivery to production, stability at scale, software automation, security and agility. As a contributing member of the team, you will have the opportunity to own and deliver a meaningful project throughout your internship that will have a direct impact on our business and customers. During this time, you will work closely with experienced engineers, receiving mentorship and guidance, and contributing to both our complex platform as well as to our collaborative, inclusive culture. You’ll get to work with new & open source technologies in the cloud.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Partner with engineers to ensure the operational success of Haven Technologies clients and internal teams by owning projects critical to our business
Provide excellent customer experience by troubleshooting, updating, resolving and escalating client problems ensuring that issues are successfully handled in rapid fashion
Utilize Pagerduty/JIRA system to create, monitor, and update tickets
Compile utilization reports or dashboards
Contribute to the development of technical documentation & operational process improvement
This internship will last 10 weeks, beginning in June 2023. You will join a small cohort of interns. Beyond engaging in your day-to-day work, you will network with senior leaders, attend “lunch & learns”, and gain exposure to new tools through technical workshops.

WHAT WE’D LOVE TO SEE FROM YOU:
Rising Senior, Senior, Recent Graduate or Master’s student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred
Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies through internships, work experience, extracurricular activities, projects, etc.
Comfortable expressing points of view while respecting those of others
Familiarity with Linux/Unix and networking
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Excellent attention to detail
Ability and curiosity to learn a full range of technology platforms as well as apply new skills rapidly
Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
NICE-TO-HAVE TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes
Exposure to cloud infrastructure
Experience with Python, Go and other scripting languages
Experience with logging and monitoring platforms

Target hourly wage for this role is $35.00 per hour and includes paid days off.
