Information Technology Business Analyst – Analytic Recruiting

Job Description

Boutique hedge fund seeks a Business Analyst, with 3-9 years of experience.

You will be responsible for gathering requirements from various stakeholders and manage business critical projects for the Application Development Group.

3 days office (Manhattan) based/ 2 days remote

Hourly rate: negotiable

Contract term: 12-24 months (minimum)

Requirements
• Experience in the financial industry, preferably in fixed income or alternative investments.
• Detail-oriented, assertive and proactive.
• Experience working as a member of an application development team.
• Interest in constantly learning about the evolving needs of the business.
• Business Analysis
• Ability to gather business requirements from multiple groups with interdependencies
• Ability to document granular functional requirements for developers in a clear and concise format
• Ability to document high-level and low-level process and data flows
• Ability to effectively test developed software against business requirements
• Capable of performing data quality control and identifying proactive ways to catch errors and inconsistencies for developers to implement
• Project Management
• The ability to run various types of meetings, such as regular high-level status updates for stakeholders, regular low-level project status meetings with developers, software demos, training sessions, and occasional presentations for large audiences.
• Ability to anticipate potential delays in a project, as well as identify and communicate their causes and potential solutions
• Ability to create project plans that account for resource and task dependencies
• Ability to work with the business stakeholders to prioritize short-term and long-term goals.
• Ability to document project status at the appropriate level of granularity and in an easy-to-digest format for senior managers
• Skills
• MS Excel, SQL Server, MS Power BI,project management tools (e.g. Workfront, Wrike, MS Project), visual tools (e.g. LucidChart, Visio).
