A member of the Marketing Technology leadership team, this role will be responsible for all aspects of developing, implementing, and governing MassMutual lead sources, applications, and data solutions. This includes lead creation and capture, lead enrichment and routing, lead distribution through various platforms, and leveraging data to evaluate and improve the lead program. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills and has had proven success championing Agile practices. This individual is facile in all facets of project delivery methodologies including team organization, project risk assessment, implementation and reporting. This role is responsible for developing technology strategies and roadmaps aligned to clearly understood business problems and identified benefits. This individual will be responsible for managing the demand/capacity for the team, working closely with the portfolio management team. This leader has demonstrated they can develop high performing project teams by setting a positive tone and leading by example. This person can perform the role of being a coach and a mentor and can provide career guidance for all team members and build domain expertise within the team. This leader will be able to collaborate within the Marketing Technology organization as well as across the broader ETX team. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to identify delivery efficiencies, technology improvement opportunities, cost efficiency opportunities and ways to improve support outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Execution: This role provides leadership and prioritization for optimizing platforms and tools to create and deliver leads to financial advisors. Accountable for the strategy, delivery, quality, and continuous improvement of all applications supporting lead management and delivery. Define leads technology strategies, value propositions and strategic imperatives for growth that can help reduce marketing costs, increase speed-to-market, establish, and elevate brand standards and simplify digital delivery. Provides the technical vision for MassMutual’s lead program, staying current of technical standards, and safeguards the integrity of the application environment. Creates associated core platform strategy and roadmaps, mapping to business needs. Generates new ideas and creative solutions to complex business problems.
Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with the Marketing Technology leadership team and across the MMUS team to align lead technology strategy with business-based decisions and fosters consensus at all levels of the organization to ensure the achievement of business objectives. Leads the development of plans and manages the activities of the lead technology strategy to enable delivery and high availability of optimized marketing tools and technology. Coordinates and collaborates closely with the Marketing Data and Data Science teams to deliver holistic marketing technology capabilities to serve our marketing business.
Leadership: Serves as a member of the Marketing Technology leadership team. Collaborates with other team members to resolve and monitor a broad and diverse range of financial, operational, and strategic issues. Fully accountable for planning, prioritization, and delivery for all teams they lead. Create and foster an environment that is inclusive, data-driven, proactive, agile, economical, collaborative, and accountable. Coach, mentor and provide career guidance for all team members and build domain expertise within the team. Accountable for selection and engagement of team members – attract, retain, and develop diverse talent.
Strategic Alignment: Leads the development of technology strategies, plans, and budgets that are aligned with the MMUS team and business strategy. Maintain sourcing strategy that is cost effective, efficient and ensures the appropriate utilization of internal, contracted, and outsourced IT resources. Provides thought leadership and strategic counsel and insights to senior leaders (business partners) regarding how to leverage technology. Creates long term technology roadmaps that enable business growth and the future state of the business.
Service optimization: Ensures all aspects of performance – cost, schedule, budget, and service quality. Ensure implementation of an information security and privacy plan, disaster recovery plan, and a business continuity plan when implementing technology. Establish KPIs and service level agreements with partners and work with others to ensure compliance and continued improvement of service levels. Architects and develops features for MassMutual’s lead program with the latest web and cloud technologies. Exemplifies and encourages best software engineering practices within the team.
Service Delivery & Management: Working collaborating with our Marketing Technology leadership team to develop a state-of-the-art marketing technology ecosystem that allows for a cost effective, compliant, and seamless customer experience. Provides improvement opportunities and collaborates to drive down costs and provide excellent leads technology capabilities.
Creativity & Communication: In partnership with the Marketing Technology organization, collaborate on creating a marketing technology strategy to analyze customer data and determine enhancements to such strategy to enhance the overall customer and financial professional experience and improve our competitiveness in the market. Communicate effectively and collaborate with Marketing Technology leadership team and appropriate marketing personnel and interfacing organizations to influence change and the successful execution of the strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical field
• 10+ years of overall experience with 5+ years of IT leadership, business unit, or other functional leadership experience and may have significantly more
• 3+ years experience implementing solutions with at least one of Spark, Docker, AWS, Kubernetes
• 3+ years experience in data analytics, database design, and/or SQL
• Proven ability to translate business strategy into cohesive technology strategy and corresponding delivery roadmaps
• Proven ability to successfully manage large vendor relationships
• Identifiable track record of leading/driving key initiatives working with cross functional teams to successfully implement critical business projects, problem solutions and continuous improvement efforts.
• Excellent relationship skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment and a demonstrated track record of leading and successfully driving change and performance within an IT organizational structure and across an organization.
• Excellent analytical data-driven decision making, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.
• Experience in GIT, its branching and merging strategies such as Gitflow and CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins and GitHub actions.
• Excellent time management skills – ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus and prioritize to provide exceptional service levels in a dynamic environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in marketing and lead management technology
• 3-5+ years of experience with Python or Java.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity, capable of establishing and growing functions and teams from the ground up
• Experience in software engineering/development and architecture design, implementing marketing tools and technology to meet business strategy and business process requirements.
• Proficient with project management tools and techniques, such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Scrum and Kanban
