POSITION SUMMARY: The Dental Technician position is responsible for manufacturing dental prosthetics including bridges, crowns, and dentures. Dental technicians construct these devices based on impressions dentists and dental hygienists take of patients’ teeth. Dental technicians also follow dentists’ written and oral instructions.
Essential Functions of the Position Include:
• Builds and repairs dental appliances.
• Makes crowns and bridges, full and partial dentures, dental implants, mouthguards, orthodontics, and other dental appliances.
• Uses common dental lab tools, including porcelain ovens and furnaces, pinning equipment, and lathes.
• Uses common computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
• Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs), prescriptions, and dental impressions.
• Collaborates with dentists, orthodontists, and other dental lab technicians.
• Adheres to lab processes and procedures and industry standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• EDUCATION: o High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required o Certified Dental Technician (CDT) preferred
• EXPERIENCE: o 1 year computer operator or related experience o CAD/CAM systems and dental anatomy knowledge preferred
• SKILLS: o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite o Hands-on experience with computers o Professional attitude and appearance o Solid written and verbal communication skills o Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise o Excellent organizational skills o Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks o Detail oriented with an ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment
